Just a quick request for info. Which company has the contract for the UK's 'airborne fishery protection role' these days and where is it based? Is there an associated website that anyone knows of - couldn't find anything useful via Google. Thanks in advance.

Direct Flight hold part of the contract in Scotland. Out of interest, they have just got the contract to run the new BAe146-300 research aircraft out of Cranfield for the UK Universities.

FR Aviation based at Bournemouth do the work around these parts , callsign Watchdog, they use Dornier aircraft. I would think if you put FR Aviation into Google you will get what your looking for. :8
Whilst FR Aviation's Dornier 228s do operate some Fisheries flights from Bournemouth Directflight have two Cessna F.406 based at Exeter. G-MAFA is Watchdog 71 and G-MAFB is WDG72. They cover most of the English and Welsh coasts.

Many thanks for the above replies.
Presumably the surveillance equipment on these aircraft is operated predominantly by ex-military 'rear crew' types (WSO, WSOp in new money). If so, any appropriate pruners care to comment on the job, way of life, vacancies, required qualifications etc?
