Just saw an article stating that BAE's training ops in Jerez had been sold to the "management team". Does anyone know who provided financial backing for the transaction or how much was paid for the business?

Perhaps the tide is turning for professional training providers in the UK and Europe which could be good news for pilots...

And where exactly is this article for the sale of BAe - Jerez?

Certainly very interesting news if based on fact.

They were at the Flyer Prof Training Ex. on Saturday with press releases confirming this and looking for trainees to sign up - seems they do modular as well as integrated now, not sure if that is 'new' with the sell off or not.

Spoke to 3 of the reps from Jerez on Saturday. Believe the new name will be "Flight Training Europe" - as close to the old name as possible without the BAE reference! The new owner is Peter Sadler who was the new General Manager under BAE - so it is a management buyout.

Irv, BAE were offering modular as well as integrated - so it is not new.

While on the subject, has anyone done their PILATZ (if the spelling is right??) entry test?

Is it just their version of the GAPAN test? i.e. Keeping a ball in the centre of a screen and remembering 15 digits in 5 seconds??
