The passenger said that he was, "carrying the explosives back to Italy to use during Christmas celebrations."
Sounds as sensible as the Albanian who shot down the Cessna during festivities awhile ago.
I'm glad they found the stuff. Newark needs urban renewal but not that way.

cwatters ...if you read the story correctly: He didn't get to Newark, in fact he didn't even get on the plane at Quito!
