On those aircraft with speedtapes on the EADI, V1 and R appear to indicate the speeds entered into the FMC.
According to the OPS manual these speeds will blank 2 minutes after takeoff.
However, what happens on our simulator is that the CDU takeoff page blanks the V speeds after 2 minutes, but the V1 and R indications remain on the EADI until the A/C has passed 210kts, at which point they disappear.
I have pilots stating this is incorrect, but engineers stating this is correct.
I tend to agree with the engineers, since the portion of the speed tape containing the V speed indication is not normally visible after passing about 190kts. Therefore, you would only know if the indications continued to remain when the A/C stays at a speed of less than 210kts for more than two minutes. Surely this would only occur in an engine out scenario?
Can anyone enlighten me with the facts, not supposition please.
