There is currently considerable (and well-supported) speculation that it will be known as "Ted". There's been a "teaser" ad campaign running in the Denver area, which triggered discussion and research. See this www.rockymountainnews.com (http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/business/article/0,1299,DRMN_4_2409439,00.html) story for details, and www.meetted.com (http://www.meetted.com) for the campaign website. www.flyted.com and www.flywithted.com aren't yet active, although the registrations can be confirmed with a whois search.

I've never been a fan of UA's, but this launch seems to me to possess a certain flair and creativity seldom associated with that company.

Airline management eh? Dontcha love em?
UA guy:
"Hey guys I've got an idea why don't we start an airline within the airline that'll work!!!

Rimmer engages cynic mode:
"In just the same way that CALite, Metrojet, Shuttle by United did right ?(the jury's still out on Song)"

UA guy:
"OK we will call it Ted that'll be all funky and win the youth and wanna be youth consumer"

Rimmer:
"Cool, surfs up, snows deep etc etc"

UA guy:
"Then we'll promote it using the teasing "tell Sid" campaign that they used in the UK in the 80s to privatise one of the IPO of one of the nationalised utilities cept will call it "where's Ted" yep that'll work..."

Rimmer:
"Actually that campaign did work pretty well. But please another low fare airline within an airline? (switches to surfer yoof ala cousin Rimmer "Duuuuuude don't harsh my vibe"
