hello everyone,

need some help guys, i got a south african cpl which was last validated in 1995(due to lack of funds of course),i know under the old rules i must write all the papers again although im aware that the rules have changed somewht...,i have been a current pilot for all these years maintaining my Tanzanian cpl and a current IR for wht its worth,i worked very hard for my south african cpl so it would be a shame to let it lapse just like this...kindly advise

You can get the offical answer at the CAA www.caa.co.za By the way check out the structure of the new CAA, says it all.
Im betting they will be smiling when you show up at the window. Payment for Testing, payment for Aircraft, payment for Checkride, payment for Licensing, payment for Medical, payment for whatever else they missed......

Hello 406pilot,

Check out the AIC 30-7 on the website that B Sousa mentioned. Here you'll see what it takes to validate your current CPL/IR. This will save you some time and money. Basically you can validate your CPL/ATPL and then write the exams. If you have an ATP licence, you can validate that and write the ATPL subjects directly without having to write the CPL subjects. Also look at AIC 30-10 for exam stuff. You might have to only write some, or all of the subjects.
