Hi

Anyone know what kind of crew and flight testing the Emirates A340-500 will do before entering service in December.

I heard it might fly a bit to Gatwick before then ??? :confused:

Yup,

MFF (mixed fleet flying) for the 332/343/345.

Management has apparently refused to let the 345 fly any commercial sectors before it goes to SYD on the 1st. However, the second a/c will not arrive for another 10 days or more so it may not be them but practicality.
1st a/c goes into the hangar within a week to have the 1st class suites installed. (virtual tour on the EK website).

I understand 18 343/345s by the end of 2004.

Cheers:D

Yet to be confirmed but looks like:
Ultra long haul -SYD/JFK/SFO etc - 2 full crews.
Long haul - KIX/PTH - 1 Capt & 2 FOs.
Medium - LGW/JNB - 1 crew.
Cheers.;)

Thanks for takin the time to reply Stormy.

Doesn't sound like any change to the recruitment policy then.

No problem.:ok:

We are still short of people so the doors are open.
Rumour has it that since the DEC adverts the FO applications have dropped seriously. Go figure!:{
