Strikes to disrupt Heathrow flights
LONDON (Reuters) - Air travellers face disruption at London's busiest airport this weekend as nearly 1,000 support staff stage a 48-hour walkout over pay.

The strike by Swissport staff, who handle baggage and perform check-in duties at Heathrow airport, is expected to hit as many as 20 airlines.

A spokesman for the TGWU union said the action would begin at 4.30 a.m. on Sunday, affecting major airlines including Aer Lingus, Malaysian and El Al.

Swissport said it was working on contingency plans to minimise inconvenience to travellers.

Oh well - my trips for next week have just been re-booked through BHX..... The travel agent didn't know what the effect of the strike would be, so the company decided not to take the risk! For who's to say that the action won't spread??

So that's a couple of trips with no revenue going to LHR; these strikes affect more than just the intended targets.

When you say Delta, I take it you mean Delta Air Transport from Belgium and not the US airline that goes into Gatwick??????
