Would love to see that confirmed.

That would be great news for Glasgow and Scotland.

Quite surprised that it looks like it'll be daily - timings don't seem to suggest any on-route stop either. 3-4 weekly had been talked about previously

excellent news though!:D

Congratulations to Glasgow if this good news turns out to be the real thing. News like this begs the question will Dublin be next? Should like to think so and that is coming from someone from the real capital! What about Jetmagic to Glasgow!? :D

Ah, yes, Tom . . . Always great to meet a Clareman!

I am quietly optimistic that this (well, 2004) might well be our year. EK usually likes to start with a daily service, but has started cities with less than a daily service and I believe that there has been lobbying at a pretty high level (and, I admit, quite a bit of my own too - although probably less effective!)

Here's hoping!

On the subject of EK, has the MAN-DXB really gone to twice daily?

MAN-DXB is already twice daily and carried over 28,000 pax in August.

BHX-DXB goes twice daily from next March.

I hope the GLA-DXB is as succesful

Proof once again that the PAX are out there just waiting to be reaped and it takes forward thinking, brave investment from a foreign airline to start the ball rolling.

I have flown 30 + flights with EK and can truly say they have a really 1st class standard of service, even in economy. Dubai is a real class transfer airport and a pleasure to use, unlike terminals 1 and 3 at LHR that I had the misfortune to use last weekend. What a s--t hole ! a dreadful 1st impression for the millions that pass through every year. It is no wonder that those in the know are voting with their feet and adding to the success of the airlines that deserve their custom, flying from local airports.

Well done Glasgow and see you all in Dubai. !
