Would be interested to find out if knowing someone in the company helps your cx application?

Unless if the person you know is in flight recruitment, or part of the overall process, I don't think it helps at all. They seem to be a crowd that's hardly ever moved by outside opinions.
That "person" can only help you so much, the whole process is pretty objective and a lot of people have an input into your application process, very high up people I must add. Especially in the flight grading process, if you don't have the skills it takes, then its "out the door" instantly.

knowing ppl in CX is worse than not knowing. you won't be helped very much at all, unless you are PC or DT's son or nephew.
try to work it out yourself.
