Truth to tell, one has posted the Agincourt bit on as many websites as possible, one feels as a Englishman, it is ones duty to annoy Frenchmen as often as possible.

Now you're sure what a Frenchman actually looks like, aren't you? After all, you do hail from the monkey hangers' part of the world, don't you?

Please Mr B, Harlepool lies far to the south, the natives of that town are regarded as effete southeners, still, one can hardly blame them, twas a easy mistake to make, and as I understand it the poor creature did get a fair trial.

Incidently today 26th Oct in 1881, the Gunfight at the OK Corral took place, not exactly military one admits, but of passing interest.

One is willing to bet that at least 50% of you chaps will mention this interesting fact during conversation in the pub this lunchtime.

Not that I'm from Hartlepool mind, but they're close neighbours and I'll stick up for them against Savern Poofters and Geordies alike... No-one else will. ;)

The monkey WAS French - a uniformed crew member of the Chasse Marie (http://www.mg002b3988.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/hartlepool.htm) in fact.

In the many years since the incident, it has never been established just what a French ship was doing off Teesmouth during the Napoleonic Wars; but it was certainly up to no good and its easy to mistake a monkey for a Frenchman. Especially when wearing a French naval uniform.

Q. Have you seen any Mirage pilots recently? No? So how do you know what one looks like?
