First the Customer Services Manager "resigned", then the Security Manager was given an assisted passage, now the Airside Ops Manager steps down - all within the year. Is something going on at LBA?
Who's next?

Draw your own conclusions to this then:-

Over the last ten years,
2 Managing Directors
3 Personnel Managers
2 Security Managers
2 Customer Service Managers
2 Head of Operations
4 Airfield Service Managers
2 Airside Managers

Seems to me that LBA cannot keep middle managers

Wot, only 2 MDs in 10 years??

Can't they attract staff?

The MD's position is irrevelant with the respect to the very high turnover of their junior managers. It seems to me that there are three possibilities here.
1. They are moving on to better things.
2. They are being forced out due to not being very good.
3. They are leaving due pressure of work.
In any case it does not reflect well on senior management

More seriously -

Average tenure across the 'middle management' roles is just over 4 years.

As far as industry in general goes, that's fairly good.

If LBA is still owned by local authority (is it?), I would expect tenure to be longer. But in the private sector, managers do tend to move around for all sorts of reasons at very regular intervals.

LBA is still owned by 5 local councils therefore I agree tenure should be longer due to council employment policies and pension schemes. However as LBA is a limited company they have to make money. So financial pressures are great and these could be put onto the middle management, only a guess. Also Airport management is quite specialised so where do these people go? My company could only employ people from personnel or cust. services. I suppose the others would have to work at other airports.

I think LBA managment must be great.... just think of this in money terms.

Security manager, waiste of space, pain in the #*? paid 25-30k get rid
25-30k saved in bank.
Cleaners next..... to the cleaners!!

Any questions?

Entirely impossible to draw ANY conclusions I would say, without (1) seeing these numbers in the context of similiar roles at other regional airports over the time period and (2) seeing benchmark data for the UK as a whole.

My own experience is that at all the companies I've worked for, 10 years in the past, be it in terms of people, procedures etc is pratically ancient history. Nor would you get many carreer development specialists advocating ambitous middle managers to stay in the same job at the same company for any great length of time.
