I wish Russell all the best for the future.
He had a hard task at QO with the management team always changing plans at the last minute and expecting him to crew new schedules wihout the resources and having very limited time to do it.

Perhaps if Russell had been easier to get on with and listened to the concerns of his crews his task might have been easier. Good riddance I say. His departure could only be for the best. Let the floggings cease!:ok:

Good one radar vectored. After seeing cnsnzs' egregious and oleaginous (bad/greasy and oily) reply I was going to post something similar to yours, but apathy set in. Nothing personal - I've known him for years, but his communication skills are non-existent and his management skills not much better. An excellent pilot and trainer though.

cnsnz. You are wasting your time mate. He won't be doing the hiring now.

i am not interested in a job flying.
Already got a good job with EK been at QO done that ,but I also no what he had to put up with there maybe he was only able to provide you guys with the minimum it wasnt as if he owns and runs Origin he is an employee just the same as you.

so, when are the recruiting... the eternal question
and who takes over the recruitment job that RJ did.

Recruiting!!!

Mate, Mate, Mate, Mate..(Nemo)

You have to get someone there who actually can stand up to the standover tactics of RI, and do the job without being bullied.

A few good guys there, but no long term boss who can actually have some time to do something with the crews, without being ousted by RI!

The sooner Air NZ hire a few more of their pilots, the better for all!!

The boys (& girls) next door (Air Nsn) are recruiting.

Word has it that an ex employee of theirs is back for one next month.

Origin Pacific adds Ewan Wilson
to its Management Lineup
26-Nov-2003

Origin Pacific Airways, has added former Kiwi International Airline’s founder Ewan Wilson to its executive management team.

Origin, with comprehensive operations servicing fourteen New Zealand destinations, has appointed Wilson to the role of General Manager Sales and Marketing.

Founder and Managing Director of Origin Pacific, Robert Inglis stated “Origin was founded on the clear principles of providing the best possible service while offering real value and flexibility to its customers. Ewan’s addition to our management team with his proven passion for the airline industry and the regions adds strength to an already strong team. His experience aligns itself well with Origin’s determination to ensure that with new international carriers arriving at New Zealand’s major gateways, Origin can play its part in ensuring international visitors have easy access to New Zealand’s heartland”.

Wilson’s fixed term contract with Origin runs to June 2004. Wilson will be based in Hamilton and remain a member of the Hamilton City Council and the Waikato District Health Board and he will make a final decision as to his Mayoral aspirations in June 2004.

To celebrate Ewan's appointment, the company is offering a short life "Get to Know Origin" specials campaign with one way sector fares in the range $29 to $49. Details are available on the company's website.

Ewan Wilson stated today “it is a real privilege to be working with Robert Inglis and the Origin team. Robert’s proven record with Origin and Air Nelson in an industry that can only be described as fluid and extremely challenging speaks volumes and to be working as part of his strong team is a career highlight for me”.

More likely the hard work from the boys & girls at the coalface!

How come the real people never get the rewards they deserve.

Best they all get jobs elsewhere.....

R has been the best MGR at QO and is the only person within mgmt with any sense of reality, the place is going to fall apart when he leaves along with associates, - to the plebs he is not leaving because of crew ( you think too highly of yourselves) you have no idea what has been going on.

Yes I agree with Plas Teek and others. Good luck to all those guys that have seen the light and moved onwards and upwards.

Origin Pacific had a great management team when it first got started and in those days was a much happier company. The operation had incredible potential and had these managers and staff been treated fairly the company would be a real winner today.

RI made the error of shafting his entire set-up crew and installing corporate management that did not know how to handle the most important part of any airline - PEOPLE. The other thing they do not want to understand is the operations side of the business. It seems the shaftings continue. When will he wake up ?

Getting Euan Wilson in will not help this company's main problems. It needs a doctor in more important areas. Mainly the boardroom !

RI has been very good at MANAGING OUT the very managers he has put in place.

If he left them to do the job they were employed for, OP would be a very different company.
