I have a couple of questions to anyone who might know the answer:

Do 747 direct-entry F/Os on the freighter side get Type-Rated?

And, if so, is there any sort of paperwork-shuffle you can do to transfer the 747 Type Rating from the Hong Kong ATP over to an FAA 747 Type?

Thanks

Yes, D-E F/O's on the 747F are typed. Regarding credit of the time, absolutely.

However, to transfer the type to an FAA licence isn't possible - you will still have to carry out an IRPC (under the guidance of an approved school and IRE) and FAA oral, but you will get full credit for the hours flown on the HK ALTP.

Good luck.
