Is there any ground on the information that cable TVs (wide channel options) are illegal or at least extremely difficult to have at home in UAE?

Sounds like complete bull**** to me! I've lived here all my life pretty much, spent about the last 9 years in the US and I don't find it too much different....

Talk to the Cable Guy nicely and you can get all the shonky stuff from Europe for a little extra each month....of course that's what I heard, wink wink nudge nudge.
