Cathay hiring

Hi everybody,

1/Does anyone know what Cathay hiring backlog is. I applied as an S/O 12 months ago and am wondering if I should prepare for a long wait.

2/I had LASIK done a year ago on both eyes and see 20/20 now. I have an FAA class I. Is Cathay medical exam OK with LASIK?

3/ Any tips on the technical and psychological tests??? Do they resemble what I have seen when I interviewed for french airlines?

1) There are some direct entry s/o who have been accepted (but not hired) are waiting to mid 2004 for course dates, so I assume that the backlog now is quite huge.

2) I've heard conflicting stories on LASIK, some I've heard that the stance changed a couple of years ago to allow for LASIK corrected vision, but I heard again recently that it's still the same as before. Sorry, can't help.

3) The psychometric testing is similar apparently to what BA uses, but not sure about French airlines.
