Horizon Airlines appoints administrator

Regional airline Horizon Airlines has appointed an administrator to assess its future direction.
Horizon said it had appointed Giles Woodgate of Woodgate & Co Chartered Accountants as administrator effective Monday, October 13.
Mr Woodgate said the airline would continue to trade while he undertook a review of the business.
He said he would be examining the viability of the business and determining the extent to which improvement could be made to trade its way out of administration.
A meeting of creditors has been called for October 20 at which time Mr Woodgate would report on the future direction of the company, he said.
Horizon operates passenger and freight services out of Sydney to regional centres including Cooma, Taree, Williamtown, Grafton and Kempsey.
