I see in the back of this weeks Flight Interational Air Scandic are advertising for "DC-10 training captains, captains, first officers and flight engineers to be based in the UK."

I wasn't aware that Air Scandic operated a DC-10?

Hi,

Air Scandic don't operate the DC-10, why would they want to lease one?

Well they sure as hell don't want DC-10 training captains, captains, F/Os and flight engineers to sit in an A300!

Maybe Scandic think it might be worthwhile snapping up 3 exMYT DC10-10's currently having a breather at EGTE.

I'm sure they'd be going pretty cheap.

I have heard from some people at Air Scandic that they are getting a DC10 and are planning on flights to the Caribean from Manchester. Would find it hard to think they would try and run that sort of program with a 10-10.

Shouldn't imagine they will have much trouble in picking up My Travel crew in any case.

have heard that the dc10 is a 30 from Finnair, of which they have currently leased to AOM. services to BGI and Goa?? also the 2 a300b4s have a further extension for 2 years. NCL base closing down as Excel will base 738 there 2004, so scandic NCL crew are going on the dc10. taxiing down from NCL. wonder whether the new dc10 will have a new colour scheme?!!:ok:

Is it not a bit of a waste of money in this current climate to have a crew base but no flights out of the base? To me, I would have thought the crews would have been offered relocation or redundancy, if they were permanent! I used to work for an airline who would taxi us VERY regularly and it quickly came to an end for both the crew and the airline!!! :*
