Easiest solution is probably to buy a new one, they are reasonably priced.

Leave it for a few hours somewhere warm, and it will probably be OK.

I've lost count of the number of drinks I've spilt on my keyboard - it still works (although the number 1 key is a bit dodgy), and it still works.

homesick:

I'd leave your keyboard as it is - your post is intelligible, which is a damn sight more than other posts elsewhere on PPRuNe.

Seriously, as long as it wasn't anything corrosive, then once it dries out it will be fine. If it was something sticky like coffee or beer then a judicious soak in warm water, followed by a long rinse in fresh water, should work. If it's a bog standrd keyboard and you can't be bothered to do all that, then a new keyboard is in the offing - try wireless, brilliant !

homesick rae,

Most keyboards are sealed and designed for the occasional spill. Try putting it out in the sun for a few hours. If not, it is a great excuse to get a new keyboard. There are some very good keyboards out there that do not cost much.

Logitech has some great keyboards:

Internet Navigator™ Keyboard (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products/details&CRID=1&CONTENTID=6006&countryid=19&languageid=1)

http://www.logitech.com/lang/images/0/824.gif

Elite™ Keyboard (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products/details&CRID=1&CONTENTID=5013&countryid=19&languageid=1)

If you want to go all out:

Logitech® Cordless MX™ Duo (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=products/details&CRID=1&CONTENTID=6831&countryid=19&languageid=1)

(Which comes with the cordless rechargeable MX700 Optical Mouse)

If you use the keyboard a lot, give yourself the ultimate typist's keyboard, the Avant Stellar.

http://www.cvtinc.com/products/keyboards/menu.htm

Programmable 116 key design (inc. macros), heavy-guage steel, proper mechanical click/tactile key switches (almost sounds like a typewriter if any of you can remember such things).

Solid as a rock and weighs about as much (doesn't wander around your desktop) and a real pleasure to use - puts all those gummy soft key things to shame.

Keys that fight back! I love it.

homesick rae,

I am glad to hear that you are all set now. Which keyboard did you go with and what do you think of it?

Take Care,
