Hi, there

Does anyone know what happened to the BA002 this
evening. I checked out the BA website and it's listed as
flying from SNN to LHR on 06/Oct so it must have been
diverted there on it's return from JFK

Thanks
ILC

Errrr.....

Difficult for an aircraft to Divert when it hasn't even taken off yet?!*!

Try ba.com as a source of info... ETD 2130EST

I was looking at BA002 on arrivals where it just shows:
BA0002 SNN LHR 05OCT 18:00 06OCT 07:45 Estimated

If the BA website is really showing the correct info
that means that they are leaving JFK at 21:30(02:30BST)
and flying to Shannon:
BA0002 JFK SNN 05OCT 09:00 05OCT 21:30 Estimated

I guess that's because they wouldn't be allowed to land
at Heathrow so early in the morning (approx 06:00 if
the flew straight there) (?).

G-BOAC is stuck in JFK as its air con has failed. It is expected back at LHR at 7am on 6th Oct

I was kinda surprised when I sat down at the radar this morning to hear "Good morning Director, this is Speedbird Concorde 2". I thought I was going mad...............

Hey, Jerricho, did they sort the cross couple out?

And what's happened to BA2 today (ex-JFK 06.10.03)? It's now gone 1330 local at JFK and there's still no estimated departure or arrival time.

I think you'll find, at best, that those in W London will get another early wake-up call...

It all rather seems to be going t1ts-up at the moment for poor old Concorde.

What a shame. Anyone know what the second problem was?

Just on the day when BA2 finally managed to operate on schedule for the first time in days, the LHR-BOS special today has "turned back", now apparently re-scheduled for 1900 (originally 1630, actual departure 1635). Poor old bird.

Poor old bird. Not a bad recovery though...BA1215 apparently breaking the London to USA speed record yesterday. :ok:One of the Concorde's last flights was also its fastest.

The British Airways supersonic jetliner landed in Boston Wednesday in a record London-to-U.S. time of three hours, five minutes and 34 seconds, according to airline spokesman Jeff Angel.

The old record of three hours and nine minutes was set in 1974 on a flight from Paris to Boston.

The Concorde is visiting Boston as part of its North American farewell tour, which includes stops in Washington and Toronto.

The fleet is being taken out of service because of rising costs. The aircraft's last trans-Atlantic flight is Oct. 24.

The Concorde makes the London-to-Boston trip nearly two hours quicker than a traditional jet aircraft. It travels at 60,000 feet at more than 1,300 mph, twice the speed of sound.
