OK, it seems to be the season for this type of question, so who can find the answer to this one - what is the longest scheduled non-stop 737 route and who operates it?

My nomination: the Privatair scheduled DUS-EWR operation for LH using a BBJ (or are you being a purist and insisting on a pure airline version of the 737?)

Cyrano - no I'm prepared to accept that as it is a scheduled flight under an LH code and is a variant of the 737. But is there a longer route anywhere else?

Hi,

Astraeus currently operates the world's longest non-stop B737 scheduled service from Gatwick to Malabo. The flight is over 7 hours long and covers a distance of 3313 miles.

The LH daily business class operation from Munich to Newark shows as 3,521 nm. This seems to be the longest 737 run listed. The Dusseldorf to Newark, and indeed Dusseldorf to Chicago runs, are now done with A319s.

Gatwick to Malabo is 2,872 nm. Is this a schedule? And at charter seat pitch?

The Air Pacific 737-800 run from Nadi, Fiji, to Honolulu is 2,748 nm miles, which probably makes third place, but is the most exposed as it is all across the ocean.

Yes, the flight is on behalf of JetAir (http://www.jetair.co.uk/home.htm).

Copa Airlines operates some pretty lengthy sectors with their 737-700 and -800's.

Panama City - Buenos Aires
Panama City - Santaigo de Chile

Both flights average 6 hours.

Very good, MEFLYBE. Buenos Aires is 2,879 nm from Panama City, which drops this daily 737-700 run into second place. Santiago is quite a bit less at 2,585 nm.

Futura used to operate weekly the route Teneriffe South-Tromso with a 737-800 (about 7 hrs flight), with a single set of crew for the return flight!! (Too flexible spanish regulations)

Air Mike operate a 738 between GUM - DPS, probably not the longest but not alot of places to divert

In 1979 I did Luton to Freetown, Sierra Leone in a Britannia 737-200; but it did a crew change at Casablanca southbound, and Las Palmas northwards. Quite far enough on a small plane.
I think they were also flying to Upper Volta in the same period

Does anyone know what the longest segment (non-ACJ) for the A320 types is? I know AC runs them YUL-LAX (2474 nm) and I believe YVR-MIA (2800 nm).

From OAG data it appears to be Sao Tome - Lisbon with Air Luxor at 2464 nm (GCD). YVR-MIA is 2430 nm (GCD).

To qualify the above, that's for an A320 rather than a A319/321.

Isn't there a Royal Flight Charter in Abu Dhabi operating a scheduled service between Abu Dhabi and Geneve with a BBJ (-700) with about 40-50 seats...

According to this (http://gc.kls2.com/cgi-bin/gc?PATH=mia-yvr&RANGE=&PATH-COLOR=&PATH-UNITS=mi&SPEED-GROUND=&SPEED-UNITS=kts&RANGE-STYLE=best&RANGE-COLOR=&MAP-STYLE=) site, the great circle YVR-MIA is 2800 nm. (AC A319)

PS. Aloha run HNL-YVR with a B737 (2705nm), also very exposed to ocean.
