Anyone manage to grab a video clip of that A320 into WLG today (the 'press' and VIP flight) - exactly what cross wind component was there at Wellington today?

You must have seen the TV news coverage. My first thought was that the skipper must have let "Helen have a go". May be of some use as a training video, one of the how not to series.

Is that Air NZ's first actual A320 being delivered?

Or just a demonstrator, or something like that?

It is the first delivered (and only delivered to date I think), being used yesterday to take the media and Big H to WLG to show off its capabilities. It is supposedly doing AKL-SYD-AKL today as its first revenue flight.

Interesting pilot report in the Sept NZ Aviation news re A320 and its "uniqueness". It mentions x-wind landings.

Here's an interesting site on the Airbus differences..

or go straight here for its "Flight Laws"

In the vid, after the landing, Head Girl Helen says she "liked the leather" :)

Maybe they need to re-programme the FBW system for anti-wheelbarrow protection......
