Heard they have plans to replace 2 of their 3 J32's with 2 J41's.

Anyone else heard this?

What a great aeroplane, if it's true, good on em. I bet I know someone there who would be pushing for it.

I thought the J41 had a real bad dispatch rate ...? Was it national jet who used to have one in WA ?

I worked with them a lot and found that the reliability was good when operated properly. It was the nicest turboprop that I ever flew in to boot. a 1000% improvement on the earlier jetstreams but that's not saying too much.

Making them even more attractive to operate now is the fact that they are relatively unpopular for reasons that I just don't understand, but I bet that makes the lease price a bargain.

We might get to see!!

I also flew the J41 and its depsatch reliability was poor, unexplained flame outs. There is little to no room up front, passenegers didn't have a great deal of nice things to say about it, noisy no room. The toilet and galley are co loacted.
Have to rate it as the worst turbo prop I have flown, all be it probably the cheapest.

But you must admit, it must be an improvement over a J31! :yuk:

And a lot worse proposition than an EMB120ER!:ok:

From what I was told the reason they are looking at the J41 is due to the lease arrangement they have on the J32's from BAE. The J32's are on 8 year leases and the first two aircraft have about 3 years to run on the lease. They can upgrade to the larger J41's using the final 3 years of the J32's leases.

PS: If it's anything like the scariest aeroplane l have the had the mispleasure of flying (J31), then l wish all who operate it good luck.
