Hi,

The new Cityjet livery looks great on the 146.

It's a bit of a thin service compared to what CityJet used to do in, was it 1997-1999 on the route, when there were two aircraft employed. And the late first arrival back in Dublin makes a business day return a little impractical for me, so it'll still mean going over the night before. But it's better than trudging up to Stansted for Ryanair. And they had good cabin service in the old days, as indeed EI did until recently when they deteriorated to Bistro Bags even in C class (and an EI FA told me "We all think it's dreadful, too. Write to Willy Walsh, go on, write to him"!).

CityJet service in my opinion is the best of any Irish airline. Full meals and free drinks are still served in Y class and their 146's are a hell of a lot more comfortable than those of Aer Lingus. The latter's seats are like deck chairs covered in fake leather.

Back in the days when CityJet last ran the route they used to have just one 146 whose interior was dreadful. I think it was a 100 model, with really cramped 3+3 seats, not leather but upholstered in some cheap cloth, pale brown if I remember correctly. I seem to recall that although it was a 100 it had the same number of seats as their normal 200s.

As they will need another secondhand 146 for the new service, hopefully it won't be coming back!

WHBM , you needn't worry about the return of the dreded -100 as two -200's are due to join the CityJet fleet for the start of the winter schedule.
