Haven't been thru NZAA in a week or so, so it may have been there a while, but doesn't VH-CZA (no rego, just an A on nose gear door so did a net search) look forlorn sitting engineless - and rather drab looking - beside the Air Freight CV-580's?

The Ansett Australia looks like its been painted out with a broom too, and the corrosion around doors/e-exits not too pretty either.

Also whats's the white B767 doing sitting atop blocks by Air NZ maintenance completely gutted of engines/interior/l-gear etc?

And whose is the old world 60's executive - RR Dart powered! - Grumman 1? :ooh: :ok:

The B737 is still there looking probably the same as when you saw it.

Dunno about the B767, the G1, I thought was a training aid for the fire/rescue guys, but then I only think that because I probably wouldn't believe someone would still operate one as a going concern

Saw a pic and a blurb in Australian Aviation today which showed an Air NZ 767 which had been parted out. Can't remember the rego (left the mag at work, fat chance of it still being there tomorrow) but it was ex Brittania and had about 60000hrs/20000cycles. Must make the Ansett ones still parked in Melbourne worth about a hanfull of beads and a blanket.

The 767 was basically time ex'd. The owner has asked Koru to strip it for parts. Air NZ should've bought the damn thing. And then made lotsa money from it as their parts. Apparently the cost was the cost of its two engines, so it would've been a nice gift.
Make a good rescue fire mock-up though....

The G1. I think it's haunted. It just moves about the place!

The 737 is for Airwork. The engines were kaput so it's getting new donks. Came up from CHCH a few days ago.

Any more info and I'll have to rough you up a bit!

Yup the 733 is owned by Airwork. They bought it for a song. Looking for work for it now.

B767 Rego was ZK-NBJ - basically just "timex" and the owner didn't want it back.

With the umpteen 76s and 73s parked in the Mojave Desert and the fact that the Oz and Nz dollar are showing some gain on the Greenback no wonder really. I am not surprised more hardware is abandoned in Oz and NZ. We are really near nowhere.

It aint a good time to be trying to sell off Ex Airline assets, when everyone else is , or not bothering.
