Just went to see this film and was impressed by the stunt flying done in the H500.
Anyone know the pilot who did this work?
Two thumbs up to whoever it was.

Yes it was very impressive..!

The most amazing thing was that only a few of the scenes appeared to to be created in post-production.

In most of the scenes you can that is is real; the movements of the helicopter, downwash etc.

Interesting that they've updated the film with cars from the 2000s...but kept the helicopters from the sixties.

not actually correct hillico thats a 500e its not a 60s helicopter it is in production now lke the minis its had a face lift new front ,tail,engine ect

That scene was unbelievably cool, but have any of you seen Bad Boys 2? I noticed that the cost guard where apposed to use Agusta 109. But I don’t think the CG uses 109´s or does anyone know correct me if I’m wrong

Rookie:
The USCG uses 109's for drug interdiction, they have two squadrons (I think) in southern florida, for the sole purpose of stopping drug runners in fast boats!

Gentlemen,

I just joined the forum and noticed your discussion on Bad Boys II. As you correctly noticed those were two of our Agusta MH-68A Sting Ray armed interdiction helos flown by our Coast Guard crews. I was on an actual deployment during the filming (shot and stopped two real bad guy boats!) so I didn't do the flying for the movie, but everything we did in the movie we do for real (except fly under bridges, we did that only for the movie). So far we have stopped 35 go-fast drug boats carrying a combined total over over 30 tons of illegal drugs. Our current total in seizures has now eclipsed $2.4 billion. We are the only unit of our kind and we are based in Jacksonville, Florida. Fly safe!

P.S. The AB139 is not a done deal...funding is always a problem. It is years and years away at best, and the number currently floating around is that we most likely won't see it until 2012.

HeloEagle, congrats on the recent successes. Im trying to join the ranks of the coast guard aviators myself, so I hope to; one day soon, be flying along with you. How did you become a CG aviator?

I joined the Coast Guard as a DCA or Direct Commission Aviator, coming over from the Army. There are three ways to be a Coast Guard pilot 1) Go the the Coast Guard Academy and then get picked up for flight school 2) Go to Coast Guard Officer Candidate School and then get picked up for flight school, or 3) Transfer over from either the Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines as I did. A little less than half of all Coast Guard helo pilots are DCA's, with the rest being made up of the Academy and OCS types. Good luck with getting in, everyone I know that really wanted it eventually got it. I know one guy that applied for OCS seven times over seven years before he was finally picked up, and he is now flying HU-25 Guardians (the Falcon jet) for the Coast Guard.

Back to the original question, having watched on DVD yesterday. After nearly 4 minutes of credits, none for the helicopter pilot :rolleyes:

Lots of aerials as well as the on camera stuff, all very well done, although the film isn't a patch on the original.

I've noticed the UK is particularly bad at allocating credits to helicopter operators/pilots on production features, esp. the BBC. What's the go, do they consider credits for the Finance clerk's Mum's baby sitter perfectly normal, but the professional pilot (inevitably Keith T :ok: ) not worth a mention?
