Hey folks - apologies if this is being logged in the wrong place.

I'm trying to get a little information/opinion about European Airlines - I've so far not even been able to find any such operator although there is a leasing co. registered with Companies House?

Main reason for asking...they're offering discount flights to Oz over Christmas (1/2 the price of the competition, routing via Colombo) so just wanted a little peace of mind before going ahead and making the booking!

Many thanks in advance

They operate 5-6 B747-236s on various long haul routes on behalf of tour operators. Most flights this summer have been to Florida. The a/c are @25 years old but ex-BA so should be maintained to a high standard. I believe that the posh seats up front are still installed from the BA days. These can be booked for a reasonable additional cost. The livery has also recently changed; now a white fuselage and navy blue tail with @7 yellow stars in a circle.(a bit like the EU flag)

Apparently they are getting 1 maybe 2 more 747-200's, ex Virgin and younger than the ex BA a/c

I think you'll find the Oz route starts in November, via Colombo.

Sunshine 1st class looks remarkably like 'old club world', with the cradle seats .... but I guess that's no surprise given the source of the aircraft.

BTW, unless I am mistaken, these '236' models are not 25 years old, more like 18-20, so are pretty capable aircraft and well specced technically by BA.
