I'm wondering if it is ok for airlines to get you to work on 2 different a/c types in one day?
If not, is this just an airline preference or a CAA ruling?
thanks

Working on two different a/c types in one day is not allowed and this is laid down by the CAA. Although I do think it ok to work on variant types e.g:crj 200&700 B737 700&800, I am not sure on this though so always better to get something like this checked out with the CAA.

My company used to have guys current on two different types of regional aircraft at one time. Never flew but one type in the same day. However for the jet aircraft we had some very different variants and quite often took one variant out and another back in the same day! And although the same basic type, some of these cockpits were very different... lots of scanning!:confused:

I used to work for an airline that had two A/C types and in the event of us haveing to change to a different type we had to have at least 10 mins for the crew to have a briefing on that type of A/C. I am sure that it is allowed as the airline was very strict and did everything by the book. :)

I have worked a 4 sector day domestically within Australia and flown a different aircraft type each sector.

767-200
A320
737-300
Bae146

9.30 hr day.

All those a/c types one of the reasons we went broke!:{
