Most of the non military training is done in Australia, see www.cswafc.com.au

Thanks I heard some was done in Chengdu in the Sichuan area. But can find nothing on the net at all about that crowd. And there is also an airline training facility in Shanghai. But all these Chinese pilots surely don't have to leave the country.........do they?:ugh:

Flight Safety Boeing, urr Alvarion or whatever they call themselves these days has a facility in Kunming with MD-80, MD-90, B737, and at least one other sim.

I've met both pilots trained locally in Chengdu and in Australia. Those are the only two primary training sites that I know of, but there could be more. Remember there really isn't that much commercial aviation in mainland China so the numbers are still relatively small. In the mid 90s they only had a little over 400 airliners.
