Hi,
Trying to set up my main account to poll messages from a secondary one but not sure where to find the POP Server Host Name.
Any advice from someone who knows greatly appreciated......Cheers:confused:

Hi !

It all depends on who your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ) is ...

If you already have your e-mail account set up you can find the account details if you're using Outlook Express as follows :

Open Outlook Express
Click "Tools" on the top Menu bar then
Click "Accounts" from the drop down menu
Highlight the mail account you want details of by clicking on it, then
Click "Properties" followed by clicking the "Server" tab

In there you will see two entries for the Incoming Mail, like :
"pop.ntlworld.com" or "pop3.freeserve.net"
and the Outgoing Mail, like :
"smtp.ntlworld.com" or "smtp.freeserve.net"

You will need both of those to access your e-mail form another PC
( plus Dial up phone number.)

If you can't find these details on your own PC you should be able to get them from your ISP's Web Site e.g. www.aol.com, or www.ntlworld.com or whatever....

From there you should be able to find a section called "My Account" or "Account Details" or something similar, and you'll then have to hunt around for the details of the "Manual Settings" until you find the above....

If you post details of your ISP someone may be able to advise you more precisely of the details you need, or send me a Private Message and I'll see what I can do.

Happy hunting.

:ok:

Coconutty,
Many thanks for you're response.
I'm afraid computers are still a novelty to me!
I'll give the instructions a whirl and hopefully get a result.
Many thanks again, it's nice to know that someone will take the time out to help........Cheers:D
