For all those posts denigrating Kiwi crews for accepting low wages please consider these points:
The majority of pilots working in JetConnect are Australian, the last intake was 100% Australian pilots
NZ aviation was almost completely unionised up until 1999 until those fine Australian gentlemen; Murdoch and Cowley (I guess Murdoch is technically a Yank), decided to screw the AnsettNZ staff and ruin the airline in the process.
After the pay and conditions decreased at AnsettNZ 30% of the pilots left for better paying jobs overseas which contradicts the theory that many were espousing.
