Ran into an old friend this morning, convo turned to old times etc, happened to cross the old VH MDX C210 that went in in the Hunter Valley somewhere, anyone know if it has been found, never really heard much about it, think from memory it is still missing and only A/C to have crashed and not be located in NSW history?? Going back a looong while, 1981 methinks, bout this time of year too, anyone know anything, drop a line...

As far as I know it, and the associated remains, are still up in the high ground around the Barrington Tops since the year you mentioned.
It went in while in crap wx ( night, IMC, ** ICE** ) after not getting getting a clearance through Willy. There have been a few searches for it over the years, but the nature of the terrain and foliage makes a visual search a matter of luck.
Perhaps the RAAF might have, or one day get, some airboune synthetic aperture radar that can detect a crushed-210 size target at the bottom of a gully in a double canopy rainforest.
