Just a brief word of thanks to the gentleman who was looking after us in the front economy section of QR 240 of 14 SEP.

Your service in that flight, one of the "horror sectors" for atleast a few of your community, was one of the finest examples of professional service I have come across in any service industry and is a real credit to you.

Well done Sir and well done QR.

Nice to hear a good word about our Cabin Crew..

During our flights while we are sitting fat dumb and happy up in the pointy end.. the Cabin Crew have a much more demanding job, I never see them catch a break.. while we are relaxing,, reading, (manuals of course) and chatting,, while struggling to stay awake during 8 or more hours of cruzing along.. they are back there feeding and serving the masses and maintaining a high standard of service while putting up with all the crap associated with that as well.. not to mention the strickt work envioment they have to deal with as well..

Like rsoman said,, some of our sectors are just a nightmare for them...

I myself try to be very conciderate to them and the duties they have to perform while in flight, and respect them for all the hard work...My hats off to all of them... :ok:

If you are not up the front relaxed then you obviously have no excess capacity. You may need it one day!

The amount of crew that used to report sick when TRV was a turnaround...wow!

Yes, it can be a difficult flight for the crew, the outbound more so than the return. ( Having said that I had air rage on the inbound once!!) Don't know if you were there then Capt Krunch?

But it depends on the individual crew member if they deem the flight difficult. Many, mainly younger, less experienced crew, believe that the pax are being rude and offensive when it is just that they don't know better. Most of these pax are heading home after a couple of years hard work and just want to enjoy the flight to see their loved ones...one or two go over the top a tad, but no harm intended.

RSO Man may recall discussing this in another thread.

Personally it used to be one of my favourite destinations...then some of the Flight Deck moaned about the Ashok Kovalam Beach Hotel and they moved in to town...better hotel, but the location???

QR Cabin Crew are excellent and comments like RSO Man's...well I am happy to have been part of that team and hope that the Cabin Crew eventually get rewarded by the hierarchy. Sadly, with the poisoned pinhead in charge I doubt it!

I recently flew to London in First Class on Qatar Airways. Having used the airline for years, I am recognised by the crew very often and they continue to go that extra mile (pardon the pun) to make the journey more comfortable.

However, the flight in question above, where the cabin was under the command of a supervisor called Neil, and assisted by crew members Tidaporn, Maria and another who's name escapes me was the best flight I have ever ever had on any carrier. The crew just did that little bit extra to make us feel at home.

And it was nice at the end of the flight when the Purser thanked all the crew for their hard work over the PA just prior to landing. Don't hear that often enough on other airlines or even on QR, and its nice to overhear all disembarking passengers thank the staff for a truly wonderful experience.

My return flight to Doha with a supervisors Laura and Michelle was equally good.

Thanks to those mentioned above and I agree with the initial post from rsoman. Its easy to see why QR beat EK hands down when it comes to onboard service.

Hear! Hear!

A300 Man, well with Laura or Neil onboard you have 2 of the best QR supervisors in the company with you. Their attitude channels right down through the rest of the crew and the pax can see a hardworking happy crew.

This is good to hear.
