Heard that the deal went thru, and the big fella (THE big fella, as they seem to have a few of them) is out of work!

Anyone know if the rest of the crew were re - employecd ? according to another thread, they were a pretty good bunch of blokes at AsA, and it is always a shame to see people out of work.

And WAS that there All white bandit parked in the GA area ? awaiting paint maybe?

Chief Wiggum

Would you please expand on this. Who is Asa and what is the deal that has gone through?

It is Airlines of South Australia, which is supposed to be being bought by Air North. I take that by the BIG fella you are referring to the Chief pilot? And yes, they are all a great crew. I hope that they aren't out of a job. :{

It will be Air North's loss.

With the respect that RH is held around the place, it won't be long before some lucky company secures his talents.

Chief Wiggum,

As far as the Bandit parked in the GA is concerned, it does not belong to them. It is owned by an Adelaide based GA operator.

If the registration of the Bandit was VH-BQB then it belongs to Air South.

Does this mean the MECIR school is no longer as well?

Or from what I have read on another post, will Air South take over this role?

The TKFS wasn't part of the deal - it was being offered for sale separately. As for Air South taking it over, I don't know.

Thanks DF

Hope someone takes it over, as there are not that many places that offer the MECIR here in YPAD anymore.

As DF has stated, the all white E110 VH-BQB is operated by Air South. Anyone know what it is used for? Have AS scored themselves an RPT route somewhere?

Believe it goes out to the Challenger mine sometimes.

Last time I spoke to RH he sounded particularly disinterested in giving me or anyone for that matter a position as a pilot, he wasn't rude but it was clear that this was not something occupying a lot of his brain space. In April this year when I went to see him, although there was nothing going at the time he was particularly helpful and encouraging. Thanks all the same RH.

Skurgler, I couldn't agree more, some very experienced people up this way have a lot of respect for the RH in question.

Interesting to see how all the other guys go. Good luck to all involved.

Onthegear, would you kindly provide a link for Air South's website? I have tried searching for it with no success. Thanks.

Just out of interest, who is the CFI of the Air South training side of things?

Spike. I think you will find you are wrong.

Check your facts before you write garbage.

Is Air South the company that had the short run of TV advertisements on about a month ago? It was the only time I'd ever seen it for a GA operator.

Affirm mate.

Still have them on occasionally I think. Saw them most often on a Sunday morning on channel 9 when the footy show was on.

They were shot at YGWA in the PA31 I believe.

4 pilots gone including the Chief Pilot, as well as the Ops Manager. They have lost their mail run and won't be re bidding on the Santos contract insofar as I can ascertain.

Is a real shame really... under TK and CK the company was doing well...pilots were employed and were getting good hours with a variety of work for all, and paid by the award. I think that Air North has their own EBA which wont pay nearlly so well as what they were getting.

Porn Star, I think you have your facts back to front. It is the Santos contract that they lost, and to the best of my knowledge they will not be re-bidding on the mail run contract when it comes up for tender again.

That is not the only fact that Porn Star got wrong!!!!
under TK and CK the company was doing well...pilots were employed and were getting good hours with a variety of work for all, and paid by the award.

Do you even KNOW who TK and CK are ???
Have you ever spoken to an ASA pilot about them ?
try speaking to someone who is owed money from them too:=

One would imagine that the crews will be better off with Airnorth. At least they have still got a job and will get paid. Understand that they are employed under an AWA, which Airnorth have been using for many years.

They could have finished up like the Horizon pilots - out of a job. It was strange hearing the Topend callsign on Adelaide Tower!

Hope it all works out for the crews.

and NOW, the "Tight Twosome" are witholding pilots' entitlements ie long service leave not being paid!
I understand that they have alos inthe past played silly buggas with superannuation as well.
I just pity those poor soles who are out of pocket cos of these two idiots

Nice to see nothing's changed in that department - same s**t, different day! I just hope the people that are owed money (pilots, maintenance organisations etc) get paid the full amount they are owed. :(

So will Air North base a Bras in AD or will they send a Metro?

Rumour has it (yes its just a RUMOUR) that AN will send down a Bras on the 1st of DEC.
