Hi,

I'm going to Australia for 3 months. I got a swiss PPL with IFR. Can somebody tell me how it works to convert that into an Australian license and where I could do that.
I'm also trying to find out if it is worth to do a conversion as I'm not primarly for flying there. I jsut would like to see a little bit into the Australian Aviation (fly maybe 5hrs with an instructor).

Thanks for any answer and opinion.

2 ways,

either full conversion, that means first get a medical, then air law exam, than flying test with an examiner... then you got your aussie ppl....for your instrument rating I have no idea.....

validation... go to the next casa office with your license, medical and logbook, get a validation certificate... valid for 3 months, then go to a flying school do a flight review - that means you go with a senior instructor on a nav execise, he stamps your logbook and off you go on your own... definitely cheaper than full conversion, but only valid for 3 months...
