Oh dear, how sad! Dreadful company with its pseudo-American 'can-do ' attitude and false promises of rewards and self-satisfaction. The best thing anyone can do is forget it ever existed!!!!
However, photos available...Name your price...:yuk:

Wouldn't take it personally runner / hasta: yoohoo sista excels in her ability to deliver her sassy retorts. She's got an opinion on everything and she has no qualms about sharing it.

Don't worry about the insults. Most people at Go have gone to Now. A good move, they were classy and Now will carry on where Go failed. Now will however resist take overs.

i can tell you now that for sure NOW airlines will fail within the first 9 months. Reason being that they are not flying to destinations frequently enough to make money out of fixed fare flying. To fly full to manchester they will take £5180. This is now enough to cover costs. Only having 2 aircraft , they will not be able to make it profitable for some time indeed.

Who ever had the idea that GO were classy, I will never know. They copied everything easyJet ever did, and still managed to fail. Flew to all easyjet destinations and had to pull out when EZY were sucessful. What does that say about the airline????

I flew Go a couple of times and was appalled by the standard of service. Ryanair were better and that's saying something!

jettesen,

while I agree with your perception of NOW, I fail to understand your views on GO. They shared very few destiantions with Easy, and the only routes they pulled off were ones not operated by easy (Lisbon, Madrid).

With regard to measure of success, look at it from an investor perspective....BA invested £25M to get it started, and received £108M after in return after 3 years. 3i invested £100M+ and received £300M+ after 18 months. So someone thought it was successful, not least easyJet who were willing to pay such an exorbitant sum of money to take it out of the market. If it was as awful as you seem to think, it would have folded naturally within a short space of time......

...which takes me straight back to NOW.....

FLYMATE

How may people do you think from GO have joined NOW? Not very many. I would suggest more easyJet (and I mean original easyJet) people are looking at NOW than GO people primarily because it is Luton. As for them resisting take-overs, ultimately the founders and investors of any airline will want a return on their money. If the price is right they will sell, don't kid yourself otherwise. Not sure thats a concern NOW will have for a little while.

Go flew to every destination that EZY flew to execpt Athens, Aberdeen and inverness. They tried Geneva, Zurich, Madrid ( which ezy do fly to), But all te rest were original Ezy routes. When Ezy announced they were doing scotland - belfast, almost 2 weeks later, Go started up the same route. They just copied all EZY plans .

...jettesen...oh dear, quick to spout off loads of facts about Go's routes, yet got some of your facts wrong.

Easyjet never flew to Venice, Rome, Milan, Bologna, Naples, Bilbao, Alicante, Faro, Lisbon, Copenhagen, Munich, Newcastle, Tenerife, Reykjavik or Prague, which Go did.

Go flew to Zurich and Geneva as seasonal destinations to meet demand during the skiing season - they were never meant to be permanent routes.

Easyjet never entered the Italian market - rumours have it that the authorities would have impounded the first easyjet aircraft that landed there due to Stelios' family's debts.

Hope that clarifies a few things for you.;)

Go Fly absolutely rocked. Fantastic place to work.

If only it could have staved off the witless competition for a few more months, bought the Airbuses and undergone a management buyout... sigh :{

Jetteson i think you should have checked your facts first.
Go did not fail it was succesful!! why else would easy pay 368 million for it after 3i had only paid 115million the year before all from an initial investment of 26 million in 1998.

Go staff working for Now its rubbish you may find one or two but most went elsewhere or stayed with Easy.

As said Easy did not touch Italy and as they were the first routes for Go how can you say they coppied Easy??

Other than choosing the same A/C type (737-300) there were no other simularities. Go had allocated seating, different service structure, different ticket pricing structure, different SOP's everything.
Thets remember that all low cost airlines are based on the southwest business plan.

and lets look at the management perspective..

Go had Barbara, a woman who was respected by her staff, seemed totally professional, and whose success has enabled her to chair the London Olympic bid.

Easy had Stelios, yes a true entreupreneur ( excuse spelling, my mini dictionary does not list it!) but who seems to be getting stuck in the mud with what are now financially poor investments...

Easy now have Ray, who from talking to current Easy staff, is so autocratic that if he was knocked over by a bus the company would grind to a halt. Apparently he manages to the level of setting fairs on the res system...?? In addition the opinion i get from easy people is that ray is not particularly liked or trusted.

of course I'm biased, i worked for Go, but my friends who stuck it out dont seem to like it....
glad i moved on to pastures new, even though i missed out on the takeover cash
