....is apparently being filmed in a hangar at RAF Newton. Sorry if this is old news, found it quite amusing.

This former base could yet be an Asylum Seeker Centre unless the locals get their way.

On the subject of Newton, I was a spacey 'staff' cadet on 7AEF when it was based there and managed to clock over 200 hrs dual in Chippies. Those were most definitely the best summer days, grass airstrip an all. Any other ex-Newton-ites ?

You're not wrong - went there this week to watch a session being filmed (obviously to keep my 7 year old son company / happy!!!). Mind you, nothing like a bit of mindless (and harmless) destruction to set you up for the week at work.

As for Newton being used as an asylum seeking centre I don't think the tree huggers would allow it. Far too run down. Only been to Newton once before (and no, I'm not a scuffer) but didn't recognize a single thing - overgrown with weeds, buildings all boarded up etc etc. As for the runway - happily being eaten by sheep.
