Does anyone recall a British (?) built aircraft, possibly with Gipsy engines and variable pitch props, that had a single "Power" lever and auto pitch control?

I have a vague recollection there was such a beast but can't recall what it was.

You are probably thinking of the DH Heron although there may well have been others.
