I am curious if anyone knows the background behind some traffic heard on BN CEN 126.0 last night about 1130 UTC, wherein -FDI was discussing with ATC his intention to shut down the RH engine before landing, due to some sort of engine fault. Guess he could do that in the B200; dunno that I'd like to try the same trick in a PC 12!

Surely not. PT-6's don't fail or require precautionary shutdown. Thats why RFDS can fly PC-12's at night. The situation must have been that the PIC has been flying a PC-12 a lot recently and thought his assy. skills needed practise!!!!!!!!!!

PT-6's might never fail, but the ancillary equipment on them can and will!
