EZY reduce GLA services
 
Looks like EZY are reducing their services out of GLA.

No STN available after March on their web site and the GLA-AMS service is reduce to one a day.

It also looks as if EDI is taking some reduction - it seems that the EDI-STN service is going to 4x a day - is this not 6 or 7x daily at the moment?

The Scottish executive transport committee had a meeting a while ago where airline reps were invited - I do remember seeing a quote in the paper from the easyJet rep. saying that the summer timetable was likely to see reduced Scottish services instead of much hoped for expansion. This was put down in the article to BAA charges, whether this is the real reason or not I don't know.

BFS-AMS also appears to be going to 1x daily.

A number of easyjet BFS services have also been reduced.

BRS only 1 x daily reduced from 3 x daily
AMS only 1 x daily reduced from 2 x daily
STN down to 5 x daily from 6 x daily
LTN down to 5 x daily from 6 x daily
LPL down to 5 x daily from 8 x daily

I think EDI-LTN is being reduced to 5-a-day as well. Maybe there just isn't enough traffic, and aircraft are being transferred to bucket and spade routes from London in time for the school jollies. Who knows......

As I understand it, the London Luton/Stansted-Scotland/Belfast routes were loss making for both Go and easyJet, a reduced capacity could see fares rise in order to address this?

OK, I would ask you all now to check our website. You will strangely find that we have just "increased frequency" on all those aforementioned routes. (Well not quite!!) EDIBRS remains at 3 daily weekday, however all others jump back to the original numbers. GLAAMS has indeed been cutback, as capacity can be better used elsewhere on the network. This was indeed a phased loading of the schedule, although some routes still do not have fares added to them and we anticipate this to be complete in the coming days.

I would thank you all for pointing this out to us, and for allowing me to respond appropriately.

Just looked at 4 bread and butter routes from Luton with all of them showing a reduction for the summer.

Edinburgh is down from 7 to 5, Glasgow down from 7 to 5, Belfast down from 7 to 6 and Amsterdam down from 6 to 5.

Too many London bases????

Both Scottish airports are responsible for nearly 1M pax annually
to LTN... This is absolute madness from EZY... I fully expect a predator to step into the obvious breach.:confused:

I don't know, but might this not be just a result of fitting GLA/EDI/BFS-STN into the gaps to LTN.

It doesn't seem to make a lot of sense having flights to STN and LTN and LGW going at the same time. I know that not all pax want to go into central London, but in many ways it is relatively straight forward by train and coach from all 3 of these EZY airports?

My previous post explained that not all routes have fares loaded into the system yet and so expect a couple of additional flights to appear for sale soon.

I say, just give it a few more days and we will see what is in store.

I see little point in qouting stories from a highly parochial rag like the Evening Times. The 'sob' stories potrayed by them
are localised and are aimed at local tribal teatime consumption.

Folk who qoute Evening Times stories are betraying their education standards. Give me the standards of the Scottish broadsheets anytime. Jamieson?:p
