FlyValan / FlyCompass
New startup that was due to launch earlier this week with a base at Genoa in northern Italy. The airline doing the flying is called FlyCompass, based in Romania.
They announced today that their planned Genoa-Barcelona route is being dropped, and startup for all other routes is being deferred until either 8 or 11 December depending on your preferred new source. The aircraft planned for use has it seems already made its way to Genoa. The cause of the delay is apparently something to do with the Romanian authorities. Anyone out there have a more informative picture as to what's going on with this startup and whether this is just some minor hitch, or whether there are bigger problems involved ? |

Operations now delayed to 21 December. For an airline that appears to be aiming at business travellers, I suspect that a start-up immediately before the Xmas shut down will not make sense and they will end up waiting until the start of 2018 instead

Further delay
All availability on the company website has been wiped for an indefinite period. Possible someone made an admin error but perhaps indicative of a further delay to flights starting
|
Paperwork apparently now sufficiently in place to allow Genoa-Trieste flights 3x per week from 23-January. Routes to Brussels and Zurich deferred for the time being.
