BAA "masterplan" for ABZ
Anyone of the ABZ loons or quines know when this is due out?

Haven't heard of this Richard, but I'll bet we're in for an improved pub, better access to the Bookies and an upgraded sweetie shop! Seriously though, a plan I saw after the recent Government white paper on British airfields had a runway extension at both ends, a new rapid exit off runway 16 and loads of new parking stands in a cul-de-sac South of the existing main apron. That said, it would appear that the extension to the 34 end has already been knocked on the head so I wouldn't bother holding your breath. |

BTW will the Plan include the digging up of that cricket pitch that overlooks the threshold of 34 to its west?
Is cricket still even played there? Do you get a 10 for hitting one of the planes? :uhoh: Or a visit from Security 1 :} Always thought a stupid place to put a cricket pitch! |

Back on topic though. Question about the AMS flights, are the flights all operated by 737s or are some of the Mother Fokkers still appearing? :E |
All 737s,usually -300 or -400s.
Although we had an -800srs last week & we have had a -900 too. Don't suppose it's beyond the bounds of possibility that the FK70/100 may make an appearance in future. Surprised perhaps no loco fancies competing on the ABZ-AMS route.It's been alway a one-operator route since Air UK launched it.Mind you given what I've said about BAA charges in the past,maybe I'm not surprised... |
Given that EZY have cut both EDI and GLA-AMS back over the last year or so (and appear to be dropping GLA-AMS totally from the end of Oct.), I would think that the prospect of loco competition for KLM from ABZ to AMS is probably pretty remote. I suppose there are other possible locos for such a route, but I suspect ABZ is not top of thier "to do" list.

I was trying to infer that the 'conversation' lasted no more than five minutes and that he would catch the next BA to LHR. Should also have added that the BAA bod would be in 'C'. :hmm:
