Stand Utilisation - EGCC

I was interested to see that - certainly at a weekend - the airport appears to making the most use of remote stands by parking mulitple aircraft on them.

For an example today there appeared to be 3 BA Dash-8s and an Eastern J41 sharing stands 62-63. Looking at the way that the airacft were positioned, it would seem theoretically possible for this policy to be continued during the week and for passenger services. Is this the case, or are there CAA rulings that forbid this usage?

Also good to see very few aircraft sitting around doing nothing at a weekend!

Sorry Fried_Chicken - thought I had posted as a reply on the Manchester Happenings thread!

Never mind, I'll let it stay here unless a Moderator would care to move it?

Scottie and others?

Is there a need to use the four letter codes?

Yes, I do admit I have to go and look them up every time they are used!

Aren't three letters for the airport, and two for the airline enough, if only to keep your fingers happy :O

ATC work with ICAO codes,[four letters]
Airlines with IATA codes, [three letters]
Same with Airline designators.[with the odd exception [three letters for IATA]
As for the multiple parking, I think that it's just that...pity
