"Gemstone" Callsign

Can anyone tell me which airline uses the callsign "Gemstone"? I hear the Shorts 330 every night over my house en route to Edinburgh but don't know which airline this is.

Also, if anyone can explain to me why a Globespan 737 i saw at PIK yesterday was using a Channel Express callsign, i'd be grateful!

Cheers,

Al

Sorry I didn't have the time to look for you, but you can probably find it here.

Good luck.

I believe 'Gemstone' is the callsign for Emerald Airways from Liverpool, and it would most likely be a Shorts 360 (unless it happens to be a HS748).

Both Globespan and Jet2 are utilising the planes + AOC (Air Operators Certificate?) of Channel Express whilst they get the paperwork ready for them to operate aircraft themselves.

It could well be a 3-30. Emerald have 2 of these after they took over Streamline a while back.

There's only one operational Shorts 330 flying at the moment.
The other is engineless at Southend.
At the moment, the 330 is doing the Edinburgh-Belfast flights.
Lucky crews :D

Could be a Shorts 360, or a 748 or a [leased] Fk27 or AN26.
we aim to please, it keeps the cleaners happy
