BAA(Scotland), lose Easyjet EHAM out of Glasgow
It would appear that GLAL (BAA Glasgow) have lost an Easyjet service out of Glasgow, starting from the summer schedule.
The prices are too high for the turnaround despite a 19% reduction promised by GLAL, £1300 at Glasgow compared with £350 at Prestwick. Is this the death of the low cost carrier in Glasgow? |
No! A bit premature to assume that!
EZY have numerous options as to where to utilise their aircraft to best effect. If a route is under-performing or the aircraft can be better utilised elsewhere (look at the new routes recently announced) then they will reduce frequency on the under-performing routes. In trim. |
>>Is this the death of the low cost carrier in Glasgow?<<
The knee-jerk reactions would indicate the imminent death of the incredibly wet-behind-the-ears Scottish Airports PLC board.! Poor old Donal Dowds must be wondering why the GLA rabbits he has pulled out of the community chest have failed to breed.? The 19% proof 'viagra' it seems might have proven more potent adminstered at a point further east. Potent enough to prevent an inpending over Hadrian's Wall FLOP. The sign over BAA's GLA HQ should be reading: output, "NIL BY MOUTH":D :D :D >>The prices are too high for the turnaround despite a 19% reduction promised by GLAL, £1300 at Glasgow compared with £350 at Prestwick<< The GLA prices also apply to EDI but there are no rotation cuts. Could it be that EDI flights are more lucrative.? |
