London City - Border Checks?

How true or not is this story?

'Hundreds of high-risk flights' land in the UK unchecked:'

As its in the Daily Mail its probably over-egged, but I ask myself why would expect anything different. Money (and exec jets) expect influence and "special treatment" while us plebs get rigourously checked!

Is that for real? They literally only spot check a few passports at UK FBOs???

Usually the passport information for passengers onboard private jets is forwarded in advance onto Customs/Immigration & the FBO by the aircraft operator.

An inbound aircraft will only usually be greeted if there is prior intelligence and/or an issue with an individuals details that requires further investigation.

Given that we all do similar with API one wonders why we are subject to checks?

Presumably this is how Johnny Depp and Amber Heard smuggled Pistol and Boo past Australian border officials. They were only noticed when they were taken to an Australian dog groomer who realised they hadn't been quarantined and reported them.

yes - because he'd written something like 18 critical reports on various aspects of the immigration system none of which were published or acted upon.

He started to complain so they said they wouldn't renew his contract nor di they plan to appoint a successor for 5-9 months at least (ie not before the election) - so "someone" started leaking them to the press - at which point they fired him

so expect at least another 16 reports to hit the headlines over the next month or so

It stinks

A so called "independent chief inspector" leaks to the press. I'm sure that is well outside their remit if it is true or not. Perhaps they should be sued for breach of contract?
