So it's definitely confirmed then that Bamboo Airways are to fully relocate to London Gatwick? Good news for London Gatwick if that's the case although I've not personally seen or read anything regarding this even on Bamboo Airways or London Gatwick social media accounts. Not sure their website is legal though as it advertises the return fare at $200 but once you click through it adds taxes and charges bringing it up to $611. I thought they had to be included from the beginning. However Economy Saver includes a generous 45kg baggage allowance! |
interesting temporary third daily Emirates being cited as due to LHR issues.. they’ll take castoffs im sure
|
.....perhaps LHR issues/pressures are the reason why BA are now flying to JER again from LGW (1 daily at the moment)

Is WestJet scrapping Toronto and Halifax for 2023?

I’m not totally certain but, I think that the Gatwick Route was requested by the States Of Jersey as part of a commercial deal for six BA flights per day from London to the island.
|
That’s tho one; Heathrow aircraft & Heathrow crews.. that gives us 2 BA night stops, when it operates. Again, as far as I know, BA are to stay on the Heathrow route indefinitely as part of the deal. Not totally sure of that , though.

Vueling was to base 4 aircraft at Lgw for the summer. Has this been reduced to one, as a result of required reductions?

More Wizz destinations https://travelweekly.co.uk/news/air/...wick-and-luton

Like conveyor belts. Lets see how many of those new Wizz routes last more than a season… its sometimes like dart boards.

Interesting to see from ACI data that in June 22 Palma had more total month passengers than Gatwick, relegating it down the top 10 for Europe.

Think I thought the first JetBlue BOS flight would have been chocker with press and dignitaries to fill it, but it went out with quite a lot seats empty including the various Mint options. Bet a lot of people still don’t know about them and maybe need more UK based advertising.

Emirates adding a third daily flight (0940) from Gatwick from March 2023 according to their booking site. A380

Following up on this. JetBlue held their launch event at the US Ambassador’s house Winfield House. It seems there was a reception held for notable customers/clients and connections.

There may also be further events when LHR is launched. I know last time they did more then. |

There are lots of photos online of the event with some impressive photos showing two JetBlue aircraft alongside each other at the North Terminals Pier 5. |
VS at LGW
Now with JetBlue serving both JFK and BOS from LGW, and Norse starting up JFK from tomorrow, does this make a VS return to Gatwick more likely? BA have also resumed their JFK flights, and Norse are rumoured to have further routes planned from LGW in the pipeline further down the line. Plus, with LHR currently plagued with numerous capacity restrictions at present, I wonder if VS would be tempted to shift the leisure/Caribbean network back to LGW, to allow the airline to utilise it's LHR slot portfolio for the more business-orientated routes? Surely VS will need to make a decision on LGW sooner, rather than later, or else risk losing their slots that they've hung onto.

British Airways (BA Euroflyer) Short Haul Gatwick Winter 2022/2023 As of August 11th 2022
Glasgow Daily (W pattern) Mainline Alicante 6 weekly Bordeaux 9 weekly Faro 10 weekly Gran Canaria 4 weekly Arrecife 6 weekly Malta 4 weekly Palma 3 weekly Seville 5 weekly Turin 10 weekly Malaga 11 weekly Marrakech 10 weekly Verona 6 weekly Amsterdam 23 weekly Geneva 28 weekly Salzburg 15 weekly Nice 6 weekly Dubrovnik 2 weekly Lyon 4 weekly (Begins December) Paphos 2 weekly (No flights from mid December to end of January) I would be surprised if Tenerife wasn't added to that list soon. In addition I anticipate there will be some ski charters and Christmas Lapland flights. I also anticipate that BA Euroflyer will release some Summer 2023 schedules in the next few weeks. |
