Jobs advertised as they going self handling, surprised that TUPe isn't being implemented. Although that will happen once jet2 go self handling in the next year or 2.

The jobs advertised are just for in the warehouse, they are not going self handling. The switch to a 734 is happening at the end of this month.

I work at the airport and they are going self handling as they were advertising for Ramp agents specifically to load and unload the aircraft. With the 734 day stopping at NCL instead of at GLA.

SWBKCB 4th Mar 2022 08:14

So how does that work, for one flight a day?

N707ZS 4th Mar 2022 10:26

Could this be the start of Amazon freight.

Jamesair1 4th Mar 2022 13:21

There must be a reason why they have switched it from Glasgow......maybe the quanties involved warrant a seperate Glasgow - Paris operation or, as you suggest, they have further plans for the a/c.
Either way the 737 represents a major increase in freight volume capacity available.

I also work at the airport and yes one of the roles Fedex advertised for mentioned using ramp equipment around aircraft however as I mentioned earlier the jobs are all mainly warehouse based. They will continue to have a representative present at the turnaround (Loadmaster) as is currently the case with the ATR but the are not going self handling any time soon!
