BA 767 Retirments

For those who may be interested, the BA 767 fleet is disappearing this year.
G-BNWA left Heathrow on July 18th and is now presumably a warehouse full of parts at St. Athan.
G-BNWB is due to depart Heathrow today at 13:10, also headed for St Athan.
4 more will go at the end of October and the final revenue flight will be to Larnaca and back 25th November.

Sad to see the end of the widebidy short haul fleet at BA. I think they will miss the passenger and cargo capacity of these aircraft for the missions they are used on.

Na much of the cargo uplift will get loaded on a truck up to East Midlands and Luton and handed to EAT as it does now in the main.

Densification of the A320 NEO aand those new 321NEO with 220 seats will cover much of the organic blob SLF requirements satisfactorily.

Those 763 European routes are rarely sold out

I don't know if BA will miss them but some of their customers certainly will. 767 still the most comfortable economy cabin around IMO with its twin aisle and 2x3x2 seating. Much nicer than a "densified A321" sardine can or something equally revolting. Still, that's "progress" I guess...😉

I am happy with a new thread for this, thanks.

I think you will find that the B763 flights are generally very busy with both passengers and freight.
Very often have 68 Club config and full. The Airbus fleet and Neos will not be able to handle that many club
passengers due lack of galley space. Looks like a reduction of premium passengers.
Only natural replacement at the moment would be to put a 788 on some of the higher yielding routes.
