Airlines' linguistics/translations departments
Hey all,
I'm looking to find more information on how airlines deal with translations in their day to day business. If anyone has any information (ie. departments, budgets, methods etc) that would be fantastic. Thank you YVR |

Maybe they pay them by the word. Why else would a translator take "Wise Indians" in German and make of it "The more sagacious denizens of the subcontinent"? (Ryanair in-flight mag last time I flew with them, a long, long time ago.
Actually payment by syllable is more likely from that example. |
